On 7th of May 2017 we saw the 1st local Triathlon of the year held on Regatta Meadows and hosted by Nicetri events.

The sun came out nice and early, but was too late to make any impact on the water temparature, which for those that have not yet started their open water training found a tad chilly.

The races were held over three distances, Super Sprint, Sprint and Standard.

Nicetri club did not have any racers in the Super sprint, but the Sprint had 7 willing club racers.

Leading the Mens club results was James Wood finishing 17th overall, and Karen French competing in her 1st Triathlon finishing 13th overall for the ladies and 2nd in her age group.

For the standard distance, Dr David Irwin was the 1st home for Nicetri in 3.02.19 with a great run off the bike, and followed in by Lesley Carroll in 3.32.10  and James Bundy 3.35.37
