This weekend saw several St Neots Nicetri member's competing around Europe in many different events. Firstly, there were several undertaking the time trial at the Tour of Cambridgeshire Chrono event held on Saturday 4th June.

The event had nearly 800 Time Trial specialists from around the country aiming to win the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships and qualify to race at 2016 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships to be held in Australia. Ed Porteus had a cracking result for his first time trial of the year coming home 3rd in his age group and 8th overall. Ed was really pleased with his result and has been working really hard over the year with a recent qualification to Second Category racing grade. Karl Hiner also had a good run and earned qualification to the world championships coming 19th overall in his age group. Dawn Parr and Lee Radley also competed in the event and managed to post exactly the same times. Jeremy Hill also raced but unfortunately had a crash 5 miles from the end, although bravely he still managed to finish in a very respectable time.

On Sunday three members were in Spain for the Aviles ITU Duathlon World Championships. Tom Stead (M20-24) raced in the sprint event and came home 1st Brit and 19th in his age group which was dominated by the Spanish. His bike time was in usual form as he posted the fastest bike split of the day by nearly 45 seconds. Paul Newell (M50-54) also competed for GB for the first time and raced in the sprint event, coming 37th in his age group. Pat Ellerbeck (M60-64) had a great race in the sprint event as he has just come back from injury as a result of running in the London Marathon. Pat came 20th in his age group and 5th Brit home.
