This weekend saw the highly important European Duathlon qualifiers held at Grafham water by Nicetri Events. Despite the fierce wind and difficult conditions the event attracted the top duathletes from around the country to try to qualifier to represent GB in their age groups for Duathlon in 2017.
A large amount of the Nicetri member were present at the race despite the conditions and were using the event as a warm up for this years European Duathlon which is being held in Germany in April.
The performance from the Nicetri members was outstanding and showed the current strength in the club. Once again there was an extremely strong performance from Karl Hiner who won his age group and has qualified for 2017. Along with Karl to qualify were Tom Stead (who also won his age group), Michael Taylor, Dawn Parr, Paul Ridley, Kyle Chesterman and Pat Ellerbeck
A special mention for Ironman Jeremy Hill who had a strong race coming back from injury on especially tough conditions.
The next main race for the Duathlon will be the Bedford Autodome race held on the 13/03/16 which is the last big race before the European finals in Germany.
