This weekend saw the Bedford Autodrome Sprint Duathlon held by Nicetri events which was a draft legal race. It consisted of a 5km run followed by a 20km bike and then finally a 2.5km run to finish off. The race was a Great Britain Age-Group qualifier for the 2016 Aviles ITU Sprint Distance Duathlon World Championships.
A large amount of the Nicetri duathletes participated in the event with the first chance to race in the new draft legal format. Once again the conditions were tough with freezing conditions and heavy fog. The competition was extremely tough with all of the best duathletes from around country competing on the closed road race circuit at Bedford Autodrome.
The race of the day was completed by Pat Ellerbeck who won the V60 age group with a really strong bike split and booked his place at the worlds later this year. Tom Stead also posted a good time coming second in his age group and 13th overall. Phil Redden and Lauren York also competed and won their GB vest so will also be going to Spain later this year
The other following Nicetri team also competed running in order of finish places, Kyle Chesterman, Karl Hiner, Brad Edwards, Scott Thomas, Kye Liddle, Paul Ridley, Paul Newell, Leslie Thomas, Jeremy hill, and Paul Ruddlesdin, who smashed a 5k PB for the race
